Following an extremely successful fundraising organised by Trafigura Group’s employees in Mumbai, the Trafigura Foundation agreed to match the funds collected by local staff and made a donation to several Indian NGOs to tackle the multiple challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The charities and actions supported are the following:

  • American India Foundation (AIF): the partnership with the Trafigura Foundation enabled AIF to purchase essential equipment such as oxygen concentrators, ventilators and pulse oximeters for public healthcare centres across India.
  • International Association for Human Values (IAHV): the Trafigura Foundation supported the “FromU2Them” project that addressed one of the most glaring shortfall during COVID-19 second wave in India: liquid medical oxygen (LMO). Working together with the healthcare system and the hospital framework of each state, IAHV provided LMO to the centres lacking this important medical supply.
  • Swades Foundation promoted a rural vaccination drive in the Raigad & Nashik Districts. Our partnership covered the logistics costs to help reach the remotest villages which do not have easy access to primary health centers.
  • Swasth Platform provided oxygen concentrators and pulse oximeters to healthcare centres. The organisation also focused on building capacity across states with weak healthcare systems, especially in community healthcare centres in rural areas.
