Opera at School
Designed by one of Geneva’s choirs (amateur
choristers) after one of their tours in Brazil where they could see
a similar project, this ambitious initiative aims at gathering
together kids from a disadvantaged part of town, their
families and teachers, music amateurs and professionals around a
major opera project and under the supervision of prominent
international artists.
The project will be articulated around three
workshops: singing, dance & choreography, and lights &
scene arts. Each workshop will be leaded by a prominent
international artist in the field.
The project will culminate with 3 public
representations – in which the children having followed the
workshops will all participate of the “Orpheus & Eurydice”
opera of Gluck (Berlioz’s version) in March 2012.
