Education to Underprivileged
Children
The Trafigura Foundation works
closely with the Instituto Fazer in Brazil, an organisation
established in July 2006 whose objective is to offer a better life
to socially underprivileged children and young people in the city
of Rio de Janeiro, through five major projects:
>a school that offers the best learning
conditions to children from low incomes families;
>a financial support programme to 4
institutions devoted to the education and the care of young
children;
>sports programme which provides free tennis
classes to children who would never have the opportunity to play
this game;
>a cultural programme which bring
underprivileged children to museums, art galleries, and cultural
centres;
>co-financing a new house, specially build
and equipped to welcome young orphans suffering mental or physical
problems.
Our 4-year donation, i.e from 2009
to 2012, enables the Instituto Fazer to offer new
opportunities, develop citizenship and promote social inclusion
amongst young disadvantaged people in Rio de Janeiro.
