Fundación Cimientos
La Educación es la Solución
Cimientos is a non-profit
organization that was founded in 1997 in Buenos Aires, Argentina by
a group of professionals who believed that education is the
essential tool needed to overcome the vicious cycle of poverty,
lack of training and social exclusion.
The Cimientos mission is to promote equal educational
opportunities for children and youth from low income families in
Argentina through the implementation of a variety of programs that
encourage school inclusion, permanence, and improving the quality
of academic institutions.
Cimientos pursues its goals through a large
variety of programmes, and the Trafigura Foundation has decided to
support the following ones:
- School
Sponsorship, by which a donor would support a number of individual
scholarships
- School
Support Programme, by which schools are being directly
supported
- Retention
& Reentry programme, to promote the retention or re-entry of
students who are at risk of dropping out or are already outside the
school system.
