Global Figures up to 2010
The Foundation already granted a total amount of US$14.5 million
since it was established in November 2007.
As for previous year, the donations of
the Trafigura Group as a whole have been distributed through three
main channels, all managed or monitored by the Foundation:
- Projects under Direct
Support, where the Foundation directly disburses from
its own funds the grants it has decided upon;
- Projects under Indirect
(Local) Support, where the physical disbursement of
the grants is made directly by the Trafigura local entities in the
world. Notwithstanding, these grants are reviewed and validated
beforehand by the Foundation, and all local contractual &
payment arrangements and payments, as well as the administrative
follow-up, are taken care of by the Foundation.
- Matching
Funds: in order to stimulate and encourage the
involvement of our employees in charitable endeavours and in the
development of the communities in which they operate, the
Foundation’s policy is to enhance our employees’ own initiatives by
systematically matching, on a 1$-for-1$ basis, all the funds they
raise.
